Does the LCD TV Have a Future?

OLED (which stands for organic light emitting diodes) screens, there’s a significant increase in picture quality because the TV screen can literally control the color of every single pixel on the screen. That’s not the case with the LCD TV, also known as the LED LCD TV, which relies on backlighting for the pixels.

8K resolution is 7680×4320 pixels, while 4K resolution is 3840×2160 pixels. Looking at these numbers, it might look like 8K is about twice as good as 4K. But, the truth is that 8K is 16 times better than 4K. 4K, or 3840×2160, is about 2 million pixels. 8K, on the other hand, is 33 million pixels.

to actually differentiate between 4K and 8K resolutions, 8K televisions have to be at least 70 and 80 inches in size.

LCD skipping frames

All modern TVs are based on LCD or OLED flat panels that display video using a technique called “sample and hold,” in which each frame is displayed on the screen for its entire duration. When viewed this way, objects in motion relative to the camera (whether it’s the object or camera in actual motion) can look quite blurry.

McIntosh SL-6

If I were to build another listening room today that's at least as good sounding as what have with my above McIntosh SL-6 speakers (which are not made anymore) I'd go with the Sonus faber Venere 3.0 or the Monitor Audio Silver 8, possibly even the Monitor Audio Silver 6, at $1,000 a pair, that's likely the best speakers you'd find at that price.
